Friday 13 – not a good date for the superstitious. Very bad news for everybody on the Costa Concordia that sank on Friday 13, 2012 near the Italian island of Giglio.
I only learned about the tragedy half an hour ago when I checked the National Austrian News Network orf.at. Only minutes after I had eagerly studied a brochure about cruise travels, and as always marveled by the apparently cheap prices usually associated with them.
Most of my first research is that of a totally unrelated bystander.
This is just a collection of screenshots demonstrating how I went about my research of the tragedy. No words, just pics.
Please do make up your own mind.
My deepest condolences to everybody harmed or struck.
I learn about the accident.
I want pictures. Head off to the corporate website. (Note: typical behaviour of a social web consultant!)
Company displays brief message on the tragedy prominently.
No news or referral to tragedy on blog nor Facebook-page. But blog has not been updated since October, hence bears no big role in communication tool box.

The bystander is eager for pictures. Off to Twitter. “Costa Concordia” is world trend. Which makes further research easy.
Just one click leads to the collection of pictures I was looking for.
Here are more pictures and international news sources, also by people and travelers involved, than any network could provide (in such short time).
